How to book a CESCO appointment

A CESCO appointment is the slot you reserve to be served at a driver services center. Nearly all in-person CESCO transactions are handled by reserved slot rather than open line, so showing up without an appointment usually means you will not be seen. The appointment system is the same for every center, but each center publishes its own availability and its own list of services.

Anyone who needs an in-person CESCO transaction can book. Before you do, it is worth confirming whether your transaction actually requires being there: some CESCO services can be completed online through CESCO Digital, in which case the appointment is a wasted trip. If you are handling something on someone else’s behalf, confirm with the agency what authorization is needed before booking.

• Know exactly which transaction you are doing. The system books by service type, and an appointment made under the wrong service is useless even at the right center.

   Appointments are booked at cesco.turnospr.com. That domain ends in .com rather than .pr.gov because the queue system is run by a contracted vendor, but it is the system the government actually uses for CESCO appointments. You can reach it from the official CESCO site if you would rather not type the address by hand.

   Step 3: Pick the service and the center

   Select the exact transaction you are doing, then the CESCO. This is where most people go wrong: they book under a similar but not identical service, arrive, and the slot doesn’t cover what they came to do. If you are torn between two options, confirm with CESCO which one applies before booking.

   Step 4: Reserve the slot and save the confirmation

   Fill in your information, reserve, and save the confirmation the system sends you. Also put the center and time in your calendar; the email confirmation sometimes lands in the spam folder.

   Having the appointment does not mean you will be served. Each transaction has its own requirements, and if one is missing you lose the slot and have to book another. Check the specific service’s requirements at the official source and prepare them ahead of time.

   Cancelling frees the slot for someone else and keeps you clear of any limits the system places on people who do not show up. If you need to change the date, check within the system whether it allows rescheduling instead of booking from scratch.
